Storm Gallery – Mt Cook NZ Gets 40cms of Fresh

July 3rd, 2009

Mountainwatch NZ snow forecaster, David Winterburn sent in these amazing images taken at Mt Cook Village yesterday after the latest storm front had broken. The weather bomb, which has smashed Australia over the last week, left over 40cms of dry, fresh powder snow down to very low elevations (700m) across the Canterbury and Mackenzie regions.

The storm left up to 20cms of snow across the Canterbury snow fields and continues to snow today across the South Island of New Zealand.
