The 2022 Winter Olympics Are On – Don’t Miss a Thing
Mountainwatch |Events
The 2002 winter Olympics are underway and there is plenty of action running through until the closing ceremony on February 20.
As far as Australia’s medal hopes go we have strong contenders in a number of sports including Jakara Anthony and Matt Graham (mogul skiing) Scotty James and Valentino Guseli (snowboard halfpipe), Tess Coady (snowboard slopestyle) Belle Brockhoff, Cam Bolton, Adam Lambert, Jarryd Hughes (snowboard cross), Sami Kennedy-Sim (Skier cross) and Laura Peel and Danielle Scott (Aerials).
The Winter Olympics involve sports of consequence and are always spectacular. There are a heap of events you don’t want to miss like the Downhill and Super G Alpine races, skier and boarder cross, both snowboarding and freeskiing big air, slopestyle and halfpipe, freestyle moguls and aerials, ski jumping, the luge, speed skating and ice hockey … the list goes on.
While Australian has a number of athletes competing on the ice and in sliding sports, including potential medals in skeleton (Jackie Narracott) and bobsled (Bree Walker), we thought we’d focus our schedule on the on-mountain sports – specifically skiing, snowboarding and cross-country events.
It is going to be a busy couple of weeks and you can watch all the action live on the Seven Network while Seven’s streaming service 7-Plus has will be covering all sports.
We are going to be getting straight into it with Australia’s strong mogul team kicking off with qualifications tomorrow.
