The history of snowboarding is highly disputed territory, including treacherous political hazards and marketing driven hype laid down to sell products to the youth. So it came as a big surprise to us that the TTR World Snowboard Tour is having a crack at navigating this terror stricken path full of bloggers ready to hate and tell their version of Snowboarding history in Video Form.

In this – part 1 of the history of snowboarding by the TTR, they smartly run briefly through the first formative years treading carefully through the highly disputed zones to deliver nothing much new except some cool old school footage. They then ramp up the amp to 11 and deliver a hard hitting interview with Terje Haakonsen about the Olympics and his view of the demise of snowboarding when Olympic snowboarding evolved.

Terje’s interview is very interesting especially if you are too young to remember what happened with the controversial launch of snowboarding into the Olympics, or if you didn’t know anything about what even happened at the time. It’s well worth a watch. But be warned this is one side of the story and you may think the Olympics suck after watching this.
