VIDEO – Spring Powder Day At Cardrona NZ

September 7th, 2009

The South Island of New Zealand has enjoyed up to 1-metre of fresh snow on the upper mountain slopes in the last 2 weeks.

A series of storms passed across the South Island of NZ that resulted in 2 weeks of powder dumps in the Southern Lakes Area (Queenstown and Wanaka) making it a great start to Spring and one of the best run of powder days in recent years.

Treble Cone resort scored the most amount of snow from the storms but also Cardrona scored a decent dump of over 45cms during the 48hours up to last Thursday (September 3). It was on this day that the crew from Nzsnowboard TV headed over to “Cardies” to follow some of the local snowboarders around for the day as they scoped their secret stashes.
