Aussie sports and adventurer photographer Krystle Wright spent last week in New Zealand developing her mountaineering skills, On July 12th, in bluebird conditions, she hiked to the summit of Mt Ruapehu.
“Upon reaching the summit (of Mt Ruapehu), we met an Argentinian skiing couple who had hiked up to see the volcanic crater. Not only enjoying the amazing view, the couple had hiked up to ski some relatively decent snow. It is still early in the season aand the main runs are quite icy with rocks sticking through in some parts. Those who hiked to the summit – like these two here – were rewarded, skiing packed powder.
