Australian Weekend Forecast, August 8th – Snow Guns Tuck In with a Stretch of Clear, Calm Weather Ahead

After a dusting of snow on Wednesday, we were treated to a mint day on Thursday, which started nice and frosty. The snow guns didn’t waist a moment and really tucked in, giving all the groomers on nice, new coat.
The weather will stay fine and the winds light till Tuesday, as high pressure ducks underneath us. Clear, cold nights will keep the snow makers busy, so the slopes will be kept in mint condition. It’ll be a great time to head up and work on that goggle tan.
Friday 8th August
A bluebird day, with chilly start and light east-to-southeast breezes developing later.
Saturday 9th August
Another pearler, with a frosty start and light breezes from the east, although some cloud may push in over New South Wales in the afternoon.
Sunday 10th August
Mostly sunny, with a chilly start and light southeast breezes.
Monday 11th August
Mostly sunny and calm.
Tuesday 12th August
Cloud increases, particularly over Victoria, where showers of rain and high level snow develops at night. Northwest breeze develops.
Extended Forecast
A front is expected to weaken upon reaching the Aussie Alps during Tuesday night or Wednesday, bringing a little mid- to high-level snow. There’s also a good chance a couple of cold fronts will bring at least a little snow from later in the week, which I should be able to give more details on in Monday’s forecast.
