Thredbo Resort has announced a new partnership with FlixBus, global long distance travel leader, making it easier and more affordable than ever for guests to travel from Sydney or Canberra to Australia’s premier alpine destination this winter.

As part of FlixBus’ newly launched Australian Snowy Mountains network, travelers can now access safe, convenient and cost-effective coach services connecting major city centres directly to Thredbo throughout the snow season – offering a stress-free, economical alternative to driving in alpine conditions. Fares on the Snowy Mountains bus start from just $74.99 from Sydney – up to 30% cheaper than driving from Sydney or Canberra.

The new services include a daily route (excluding Wednesdays) between Sydney and Thredbo, departing Sydney Central at 6:30am and arriving in Thredbo at 2:20pm. Return services depart Thredbo at 3:40pm, arriving back into Sydney at 11pm.

Weekend travellers from Canberra will also benefit from increased connectivity, with three services operating to Thredbo every Saturday and Sunday, departing Canberra at 5am, 10am and 11:45am. Return services from Thredbo to Canberra depart at 10am, 3:40pm and 5pm.

FlixBus’ newly launched Australian Snowy Mountains network has direct buses from Sydney and Canberra.

This partnership strengthens Thredbo’s commitment to delivering better value alpine holidays. With FlixBus offering competitive fares on its Sydney and Canberra routes, guests can reduce the overall cost of getting to the snow. When combined with Thredbo’s dynamic pricing structure for lift tickets and accommodation, those who plan ahead and book early can unlock significant savings – with the potential to save up to 50% on their Thredbo experience.

Guests can also take advantage of a range of additional value-add offers at Thredbo, including 50% off rental gear and a seamless one-stop-shop experience, with equipment rental, lift access, lessons, accommodation and dining all located within the resort.

The partnership is especially appealing for first-time snow visitors, with Thredbo’s suite of beginner friendly products, including Learn to Ski Packages from $99, helping making snow more accessible than ever before.

The convenience of travelling directly to Thredbo by coach and renting equipment just steps away from the bus stop, this creates a smooth experience from home to the slopes – removing many of the traditional barriers associated with planning a snow holiday.

The partnership reflects growing demand for more accessible and environmentally conscious ways to travel to the snow, with both brands aligned in their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of travel.
