Mountainwatch | Richie Carroll

The Sierra region is about to get absolutely dumped on throughout the course of this week with 1.5m to 2m of fresh forecast to fall by Sunday.

Heavy snow will be falling all throughout the Lake Tahoe region as well as Mammoth Mountain during the week with most of the heavy snow forecast to accumulate at 2,000m.

Our pick of resorts to hit will be Mammoth Mountain in the southern area of the Sierra, with over 90cm forecast to fall by the end of the week.

In the northern area of the Sierra any resort in Lake Tahoe is going to be outstanding! Squaw and Kirkwood are our resort picks to hit as they both offer friendly steep terrain, allowing skiers and boarders to really get the best freeriding out of this storm.
