US pro skier, designer, artist and filmmaker Eric Pollard has been a regular visitor to Niseko over the past 20 years, inspired by the snow, backcountry and culture of this special part of Japan. His experiences in Niseko have influenced his skiing, his equipment design, art and filmmaking.
That inspiration is beautifully captured in his latest film, simply called A Place Called Niseko.

In January 2023 a group of snowboarders and skiers met in the town of Niseko. Eric Pollard along with Lena Stoffel, Lisa Filzmoser, and Erin Valverde brought a variety of sliding equipment. from pass splitboards to forma boards and skis, they captured their laps with locals Yuta Shimomura, Wakana Hama and Yohei Sasaki and rediscovered the magic of Japan.
