It was a superb weekend up in the Aussie Alps with crisp, clear skies. The snowmaking teams were able to add a bit more white gold to the main runs too, which added to Friday’s dusting that primarily fell over NSW resorts. The limited terrain has grown and is skiing nicely.

A low-pressure system from the west will track underneath us in the coming days, bringing light snowfalls from Tuesday through Thursday. Between 5-10cm should accumulate with 15cm possible up high, mostly falling to around 1300-1400m. Mt Baw Baw will see much less, however, as winds will blow from the N-NW.

Monday June 24th

Nice and clear to start, then clouds will gradually increase throughout the day as N-NW winds pick up.

Tuesday June 25th

Light snowfalls down spreading over the Aussie Alps throughout the morning hours, falling as drizzle below about 1500m. Mt Baw Baw and NSW resorts will likely just see a couple of flurries throughout the middle parts of the day. Brisk N-NW winds.

Wednesday June 26th

Mostly light snowfalls throughout the day down to around 1300-1400m with strong NW winds. Be prepared for significant wind chill and limited visibility.

Thursday June 27th J

Light snowfalls down to 1300-1400 clear late. Brisk NW winds will make for significant wind chill again and visibility will be reduced when snowing.

Extended Forecast

A weak ridge of high pressure will keep a lid on things on Friday June 28th June, although some light snow showers are possible. Then, a decent snowfall event looks to get started on Sunday June 29th after a wet and wild front goes through the night before, with good snowfalls lasting through Monday June 30th before petering out on Tuesday July 1st. Not a bad way to start the new month, and if current forecasts hold true, it’ll be the second coming of the Aussie season

That’s all from me today folks. The next forecast is Wednesday. See you then and have a great couple of days.
