Australian slopestyle snowboarder Tess Coady has just returned to Australia after a successful northern hemisphere competition season which sees her ranked at number three in the world. Tess claimed a number of podiums throughout the season, including bronze medals at the World Champs in Aspen and in the final World Cup of the year in Silvaplana, Switzerland.

The 20-year-old from Melbourne also finished third in the slopestyle at the Xgames and Tess capped it off with a clean sweep of awards at the Audi Nines last month in Crans Montana, Switzerland. In this ‘behind the scenes’ video produced by FIS Snowboarding Tess reflects on her season and also the influence the late Alex “Chumpy” Pullin had on her career.

“I realise how privileged I am to be here, it’s an incredible sport … this year I’ve tried to do it for the people at home and do it with a smile on my face,” Tess says. “You’ve just go to remember it’s not going to last forever so you’ve got to make the most of it.”
