Another excellent short film from Nikolai Schirmer, this one documenting a one-day climb and descent skiing a couloir in Norway’s Lyngen Alps called the “Place of Heavenly Peace”. It is a big effort with a radical steep climb, vertical at times, followed by a hectic descent, tight and fast, with no room for error.

The skiing is heart-in-your mouth stuff, taking technical skills to the limit. The Lyngen Alps are spectacular and terrain and vistas are incredible, the soft polar light adding an ethereal beauty perfectly captured by filmer Martin Anderson. Well worth the watch.
