The first two stops of Thredbo’s Boost Mobile Snow Series supported by Mountainwatch went off with a bang over the weekend. Riders threw down their best efforts to win a chunk of the massive prize pool on offer throughout the series.

Kicking things off, the rails event went down under lights and heavy snow last Thursday night. DJs in the Snow dome were kept busy amping up the vibe as riders chose between their options of three different features: a down rail, down box and a stall bar. A few new faces took out the prizes in the hotly contested event, with Transfer cover-star Jordy Crockford taking out the open men’s snowboard and Tyler Smith-Coopes taking the win for the open men’s ski.

Next up, it was sunshine and clear skies for the slopestyle event come Saturday. The terrain park crew put together an awesome mix up of jumps and jibs for the comp that included: a staircase feature, a flat rail and downrail into a set of three jumps that ranged from 20-30 feet. The sunshine softened conditions, making for a great session on the newly rebuilt Highnoon Slopestyle course. Putting himself on the podium once again, James “Hardboots” Phillips won the open men’s ski, while Troy “Stuzza” Sturrock won the men’s snowboard event.

What do you get when you mix Ridercross, Top2Bottom, off-piste terrain and the fall-line of The Bluff? The all-new Banzai Off The Bluff. This is an event that mixes in a bit of racing and a lot of freestyle. There will be a course set through The Bluff, sending competitors straight into the famous wind-lip, then into other natural features, man-made obstacles and race flags to the finish. It all goes down on August 15th – one event not to be missed.

And that’s not all. Ridercross will make an appearance once again this year in the fast paced race down the slopes. You might even catch a glimpse of our Winter Olympians – if you’re quick!

Finishing up the series in style, the big air will showcase some of the best tricks that both skiers and boarders have to offer.

Entries are open to all and with over $25,000 in cash and prizes; the series isn’t one to miss! Head to http://thredbo.com.au/snowseries to find out more and sign up.
