Thredbo, October 29: Thredbo is excited to announce that registrations are now open for the 2025 Cannonball MTB Festival presented by Boost Mobile.

Taking over Thredbo MTB Park from Monday 10 – Saturday 15 February 2025, Australia’s biggest mountain biking festival offers competitors and spectators six massive days of high-energy racing, live music and good times.

As the event continues to get bigger and better every year, Cannonball 2025 will see the Osprey All Mountain event reimaged as a three-stage enduro event from top-to-bottom, the highly-anticipated return of the Maxxis Dual Slalom event for a second year plus the addition of some huge new sections of trail on the Fox Flow Motion Cup race course. Other crowd-favourite events returning to the lineup include the famous RockShox Australian Open Downhill, the Oakley Pump Track Challenge and the invite-only Deity Whip Wars.

MTB Enduro World Champion, Jack Moir said “I am getting super keen for Cannonball 2025! It’s hands down the biggest and most fun race of the year in Australia. There is always a mega turn out of world cup riders and fans which makes for a great atmosphere and provides the best pre-season preparation! The addition of a three-stage gravity enduro race from the top of the Kosciuszko chairlift is going to make it better than ever this year. I can’t wait!”

The 2025 Cannonball MTB Festival offers competitors the chance to claim their stake in a huge $120,000 cash and prize purse plus the highly sought-after titles of Cannonball King and Queen.

Thredbo MTB Business Manager, Tim Windshuttle said, “We love bringing the community together to showcase Australian mountain biking on the world stage at this iconic event. With a huge national and international talent lineup being confirmed to race, it’s shaping up to be the most heated competition we’ve ever seen. We’ve been running Cannonball for over 10 years now, and every year both the competition and crowds that turn out to watch blows my mind!”

Cannonball MTB Festival Event Schedule

Osprey All-Mountain Enduro | Tuesday 11 February

A new and improved addition to the Cannonball lineup, the Osprey All-Mountain Enduro will test strength and stamina as MTB’s iron men and women tackle 3 diverse race stages. The course will cover the entire mountain, starting from behind Eagles Nest and finishing back at Valley Terminal going through 3 very diverse alpine ecosystems along the way. Not only will the course be challenging, it provides some of the best single-track found in the country.

Fox Flow Motion Cup | Wednesday 12 & Thursday 13 February

Set to be a midweek spectacle, the new Fox Flow Motion Cup course will feature a variety of new sections that promise fast action from start to finish! Although not super technical, this event requires a fit and efficient type of rider to take on the huge berms and get hard on the pedals on the long traverses.

Maxxis Dual Slalom | Thursday 13 February

After its debut in 2024, the Maxxis Dual Slalom is back and here to stay! This crowd-favourite event will have competitors going head-to-head in an exciting dual race format. With a relaxed approach to course design on Friday Flat’s natural amphitheatre, there are plenty of off-camber grass turns and drifting to be had.

Oakley Pump Track Challenge | Friday 14 February

Bringing the village to life on Friday night, the Oakley Pump Track Challenge sees riders take flight under the lights as the sun sets and the night sky takes over. A test of ultimate skill and stamina, riders pump, double and manual around the perfectly sculpted course while the crowd goes wild.
