The 3rd Annual Tess Coady Bush Doof Goes Off in Thredbo – Highlight Video and Event Wrap
Mountainwatch | Events
The Tess Coady Bush Doof on last Saturday was a massive afternoon with sunshine, big crowds and some of the world’s best snowboarders on fire with a display of impressive park riding in a specifically designed and built park near Thredbo’s Valley Terminal.
The location meant spectators did not have to buy a lift pass and were right next to the action and the crowd revved up the riders who responded with some creative and progressive riding. The list of invited riders included a big crew of internationals and a few have been in Thredbo for the past few weeks training on the Stomping Grounds Project Big Air and Superpipe above the Cruiser Chair top station.
The rail jam was an hour of power of non-stop action and in the end Mia Brooks (UK) and Lili Dhawornvej (USA) shared the $5000 prize for best overall in the women’s while Frank Jobin (US) took home the bacon in the men’s. Dusty Henrickson (US) and Lolo Derminio (US) won the awards for best tricks while, judging from the raucous cheers, New Zealand shredder Zephyr Lovelock was crowd favourite.
Hosted by Thredbo Ambassador, Monster Athlete & Olympic Bronze medalist Tess Coady, and presented by Monster Energy the Bush Doof was the last on snow event of the season and was a great way to wrap things up.
However, while the Bush Doof wrapped up the on-snow events, Thredbo’s final après party for 2024 season is on this Saturday, September 14 featuring Tom Tilley’s First Base followed by Grammy-nominated US duo The Knocks.
