Episode Four:

6 humans, 14 days & 13 nights spent in a 30 foot long, 10 foot wide and 12 foot high RV. Our adventure began in soggy Seattle. At this point, Richie Carroll joined the team, meaning we had to drive the monster RV through the Sea Tac (airport) pick up; while doing so, we almost lost a wing mirror to a lazily parked road worker.

For three days we explored the endless sidecountry of Stevens Pass, most of our time was devoted to Hollywood bowl with it’s many features and the legendary Wu-tang booter. On the third evening we headed southward and somehow made it all the way to Mt Hood by the early hours of the morning.

Waking up to a foot of fresh was energising and we all thrashed out our cabin fever with as many sprays, slashes, turns and cut backs as we could. We were all yelling and whistling like a bunch of sugar-high kids on an easter egg hunt. Next up was Portland, this was supposed to be a day off and a touch of shopping, by midday there was half a foot of fresh in the city and by the evening it was pretty much an unspoken agreement that we better make the most of it and find something to hit downtown.

The next day we cruised up to Mt Baker. We were just in time for the legendary banked slalom. Jake & Richie witnessed Terje doing a method out of a berm – this was to be the talking point of the evening. More so than any old Olympics that were blaring from the TV at Graham’s restaurant, while we inhaled several of the best pulled pork sangas north of Seattle. We were a couple days too early to Mt Baker for a storm that bought a couple metres of snow – hindsight’s a bitch.
