Thredbo Releases Packed On-snow 2024 Event Calendar – Registrations Now Open

Thredbo has a long history of presenting on-snow events throughout the winter season and 2024 is no different with a host of events for all ages and all types of skiers and snowboarders. The event calendar kicks off with Project Shred on July 14th and continues through to early September. Entries are limited and registrations for all events are now open.

Project Shred July 14

Presented by the Chumpy Pullin foundations, Project Shred gives kids the opportunity to meet and be coached by Thredbo’s athlete ambassador’s and friends for a day of progressive skiing and snowboarding in a specifically designed kid-friendly terrain park.

One of the best days on the calendar and right in the middle of school holidays it is the perfect way for the groms to learn tricks and tips from some of the best skiers and snowboarders in Australia. There’s a signing session with the athletes and coaches, a sausage sizzle, live music plus heaps of giveaways and prizes. Thredbo Triple Crown, August 2nd – September 1st

This grass-roots three-event freestyle series is made up of Rails (August 2nd), Slopestyle August 30th, and Big Air, September 1st  competitions for skiers and snowboarders, male and female across four age divisions: grom (7-12yrs), youth (13-14yrs), Junior (15-17yrs) and open (18+)

Thredbo’s park crew build a unique set-up for each event and competitors thrown down for the panel of judges. The Triple Crown features some of the best up and coming talent in the country and is all about a friendly atmosphere, allowing the athletes to push themselves in a fun and supportive environment.

With a huge pool of $60k cash and prizes on offer, competitors are going to have to throw down a bag of tricks to claim top spot on the podium. It’s not all about the pros though, we’ve still got the junior and grommet categories covered with plenty of rad prizes up for grabs.

Battle of The Bluff, August 12th

Thredbo’s Bluff has some of the best freeride terrain in Australia and the Battle of The Bluff is all about carving unique lines and utilising the natural features with style and flow. Whether it’s sending big drops or slashing the wave and wind lips, this is the comp to break down barriers and strut your stuff!

Set to become Australia’s Premier freeride competition, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to take home a share of the $20k of cash and a heap of rad prizes from Oakley, Burton and Rossignol on offer.

Thredbo Rider cross, July 21st

The Thredbo Ridercross will put the best skiers and snowboarders against each other in the ultimate dash for cash utilising a course of bumps, jumps and berms. With a huge cash prize purse on offer for the open categories, competitors will need to put everything on the line for a spot on the podium.

Thredbo Village Race Series, Wednesday July 24th – Wednesday, August 28th

Set to bring the local community together through fun and healthy competition, the  Village Race Series is a great way to develop your racing skills, build relationships and race your mates. Taking place on Wednesdays throughout July and August, the series is designed primarily in a team’s format and calculated over the four races to determine the village race series champion teams. Overall fastest individuals for the four disciplines will also be announced at the final prize giving. Everyone is welcome, you just need a NASTAR registration number to race.

Thredbo Masters, July 26th-28th

It’s on again for those aged 18 and above, so don the race suit and head to Thredbo to compete in the iconic Thredbo Masters event. With a range of age groups, take on your peers to be crowned the Master of Thredbo. Returning this year, ages 18-29 will have their own dedicated category to battle it out for top spot on the podium!
