Snowboarding on the Gold Coast

August 17th, 2012

PowderPakOz built the largest dry slope in Australia this week to facilitate snowboarding for a new Subaru Japan TVC on the Gold Coast with professional snowboarder Robbie Walker.

The hill was the perfect location with a steep run-in, jump position and landing with room to carve at the bottom delivering exactly what the production company wanted.

“The PowderPak artificial snow surface was really fun, I was surprised and impressed, but riding in full snow outerwear on the Gold Coast was crazy” said Robbie Walker who is the featured snowboarder in the Subaru TVC.

Falls Creek snowboarder and PowderPak ambassador Scott Wight was also there to test out the set-up “After 2 or 3 hits getting used to the surface it felt rad and I was riding like it was normal snow right up on my edges and hitting the PowderPak jump like it was any other jump in the mountains!” says Scott.

Looks like a fun way to spend a day! Photo Robbie Warden.

Big thanks to City Snow Events for the infrastructure and Ozball for the epic location.
