In this episode of the Fifty, Cody Townsend, filmer Bjarne Salen and Tobin Seagal continue their 10-day mission to complete the Bugs to Rogers Traverse, an iconic traverse in the Glacier National Park in British Columbia.

While not an actual ski descent, the Bugs to Rogers Traverse is one of the lines listed in the book The 50 Great Ski Descents of North America, one that presents its own challenges including technical climbing, complex navigation, avalanche danger and quickly changing weather.

It is an 128km trek that spans three mountain ranges and covers 9144 vertical metres and, as you’ll see, is a full-on test of mountain skills and mental grit.

This is Part 2 in a 3-part episodic series of The FIFTY documenting the classic line, the Bugs to Rogers Traverse. Part 3 will be released on December 28th, 2022. If you missed part 1, check it out here.

It is a 128km, multi-day trek, but the views are pretty special.

The Fifty documents Cody Townsend’s journeys, travels, challenges and each line and mountain listed in the book, The 50 Classic Ski Descents of North America. It’s a journey through the most majestic mountains and ski lines in North America along with a unique insight into how skiers make decisions in the backcountry, how they plan, navigate and safely move through the mountains and the people that dedicate their lives to the mountains.
