Australia has developed a reputation for putting together some of the best terrain parks in the world, and certainly the best during the southern hemisphere winter.

One man, in particular, has been a driving force behind this reputation – Jindabyne local Charles Beckinsale.  From being one of Australia’s best snowboarders to one of the world’s best park builders, Charles’ career continues to evolve. He’s now married and has a young son and after a 5-year stint at Perisher where the parks gained an international reputation, Charles is now a freelancer, building parks in Europe and North America for national teams and some of the world’s best snowboarders and skiers.

We spoke to Charles about his career travelling the world as a terrain park builder, what it feels like to create the jumps on which the sport is progressed and his new business venture, ‘The Stomping Grounds Park.
