Torquay, Australia – March 12, 2024 – XTM Performance, known for its dependable snow and outdoor apparel and supplier to the Australian Winter Olympic Team, has become a Certified B Corporation. This is the highest distinction offered to companies that are committed to making social and environmental practices a core component of their business.

To be certified as B Corp, XTM needed a minimum overall score of 80 points. They completed their assessment with a score of 107.8.

Founder of XTM Performance, Pete Forras explains, “This has been a huge team effort and a culmination of over 20 years of sustainable goals and actions. Achieving B Corp certification underscores our ongoing commitment to make a positive impact on both people and the planet.”

The certification process shed light on XTM’s extensive planet and people-first approach, including:

– XTM’s ongoing relationship with the Carbon Reduction Institute. XTM Performance has been 100% Carbon Neutral since 2009

– Heat the Homeless. An initiative that donates, collects and distributes pre-loved winter jackets to those enduring homelessness and hardship.

– XTM’s recent undertaking of a Reconciliation Action Plan guided by the wisdom and support of Marsha Uppil, a proud Adnyamathanha woman

– Their eco-friendly and ethically sourced materials like Woolmark® certified Australian Merino wool, TENCELTM and recycled fabrics.

– XTM’s Sustainable Packaging Strategy that delivers goods in packaging that is completely biodegradable, compostable, reusable, or recyclable

–  Independent audits of all XTM suppliers to ensure no child labour and that all workers’ rights are protected and upheld

– Their self-sufficient headquarters in Torquay, Victoria

XTM’s annual “heat the homeless” initiative distributes warm clothing to the homeless.

As XTM Performance celebrates their B Corp certification, they remain firmly focused on the long road ahead. Their priorities for 2024 and beyond include further implementation of their Sustainable Packaging Strategy, finalising their Reconciliation Action Plan, and working towards their 2040 goal of Net Zero emissions.

“For us, sustainability is not just a destination; it’s a journey. We know there is still a long way to go but we are committed to pushing the boundaries of environmental and social business practices to ensure our planet remains a playground for generations to come,” concluded Peter Forras.
