ON THE GROUND REPORT
Aug 19 2025 06:44 AM: It's a ripper Tuesday! With the extended run of perfect weather predicted over the coming days I'll probably run out headlines this week. After the early morning cloud lifted yesterday it turned into an awesome day with cold winter snow on trail and there was even some shallow smooth turns to found in the nearby backcountry if you found the right aspect. The current temp is -2.8 and it's expected to max out at a pleasant 4 degrees. The wind is calm, there's a crescent moon beaming in the sky and the horizon's beginning to light up as we head for a perfect sunrise. With the chilly overnight temps the snowmakers had a solid run and they're still pumping it out as I type. On piste will be excellent first up with dry chalky corduroy on offer perfect for laying it over. Off piste will be variable however there may still be the odd pocket here and there and some of the most solar aspects may soften as the day warms. Pack the sunscreen and rip it up! Cheers Burner.
