Australian Olympian Ben Mates huge Backside Melon

Last Saturday Australia’s only halfpipe opened on front valley of Perisher resort in NSW. Under clear blue skies the first session of the season was under way. (Check out the gallery of photos from the session below).
The pipe is currently 16-feet high and took Perisher 60 hours of machine time to build with their snow cats and cutter. It’s a huge effort from the resort that will put lots of smiles on the faces of those hanging out to pop some air and ski or board the fun transitions.

Congratulations to Perisher for working hard to have the only Halfpipe in the country up and running.
