Despite having suitable terrain for novices and intermediate skiers and boarders, Hotham does tend to cater to stronger intermediate to advanced riders. 40% of trails fall within the advanced category and Hotham boasts the greatest proportion of black trails in Australia (not to mention the off piste terrain). Mount Hotham potentially also attracts the best snow in Australia and the designation ‘powder capital of Australia’ gets bandied around.
