ON THE GROUND REPORT

18cm has fallen in 24hrs since yesterday's report and it is colddddd again today - or 'Samuidesu' which I learnt from a local coffee lady yesterday. This has helped draw out some of the moisture in yesterday's powder which was was a little on the heavy side and quick to be tracked out yesterday as middle and upper lifts were predominantly closed per the high winds. It's unlikely that gates will open with the wind/snow combo but there should be plenty to find. The winds have blown A LOT of snow into leeward slopes from the NW and the real question is, has it subsided enough for them to open more lifts today... If so, you can be guaranteed some deeeeep turns up there! Only one way to find out and that's to be in line at 8:30 when they open. Have a great day and stay safe. - Matt
