The Mountainwatch Ambassador Program – Supporting Aussie Paralympians

The entire team at Mountainwatch, alongside program partners, Burton, Oakley and Thredbo Resort, are proud to present the official launch of the Mountainwatch Ambassador Program (MAP).
What is it?
Our Ambassador program will aim to assist our up-and-coming Paralympic athletes as they strive toward their goals at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympic Games in Korea, and beyond.

Largely underfunded and unsupported by traditional sponsors, and striving to overcome even greater challenges than their able-bodied counterparts; we believe Australia’s Paralympians encompass some of the most inspirational untold stories and personalities among our winter-sport community. Via the launch of this exciting new program, we are striving to change that.

Who Are We Supporting?
The program will launch with our first Mountainwatch Ambassadors: Para-Snowboarders Ben Tudhope and Joany Badenhorst.
Para-Snowboard is a relatively new addition to the Paralympic roster, having only debuted at the Sochi Winter Paralympics earlier this year. Competitors vie for two medals only, in a slingshot style, timed Boardercross format where competitors aim for the fastest time. The format is slightly departed from the traditional Boardercross event seen at the able-bodied Winter Olympic Games. Together, Ben and Joany make up the official APC Para-Snowboard Squad.
