Park City’s Colby Stevenson is one of the world’s best park skiers, a four-time X Games gold medallist, silver medallist in the Big Air at the 2022 Winter Olympics and Silver medallist in slopestyle at the 2021 World Championships.  Unlike other park skiers who venture into the backcountry post-competitive career, 27-year-old Colby is not done with comps yet and is aiming at the 2025 Winter Olympics and he won the first World Cup Slopestyle event of this season in Stubai, Austria two weeks ago.

Colby has been balancing both competition and backcountry filming for the past five years and Proof is his first solo project. The film showcases that Colby’s “park-to-backcountry” progression is pretty amazing and some of the tricks he nails off hand-built backcountry booters in this film are incredible. It is “hard to believe he pulled it off” kind of stuff, but Colby has one of the best, most relaxed style in the business and makes it look easy.

Colby, not holding back in Alaska.

But it’s not just the huge backcountry jumps that are impressive, the Alaskan segment is an eye-opener as Colby, the World Cup park skier, skis the big mountain spines like a 10-year AK veteran. Proof features some of the best skiing in any film you’ll watch this year and raises the question – is Colby Stevenson the best all-round skier in the world?

Colby Stevenson on Proof:

“This is my 5th season filming backcountry, and first solo project. Every year getting more familiar with the mountains and changing how it’s possible to approach them. From Utah, to Wyoming, to Alaska, I risked it all for this one.

With only six weeks of film time, we gave everything to this project. Conditions lined up and allowed us to maximize productivity. A bad crash on Feb 14th (as seen in the final segment) left me with a sprained neck, but luckily recovered after three weeks.

My childhood friends, Jack Francis and Justin Mayers, put in 110% effort to capture this cinematic experience. The support we received from Monster Energy, Oakley, K2 Skis, Ski-Doo, Freefly Systems, and Alpina Watches brought our production value to new heights, and we are forever grateful.”
